On Tuesday, 12 and Wednesday 13 March the first international edition of the High Performance Buildings event was launched at MIPIM in Cannes, France. The intimate reception, organized by the Blue Building Institute and hosted by Van Zadelhoff attracted an audience of industry leaders. Top nodge speakers of the International Well Building Institute, STOK and Phil Williams shared their point of view on well-being and high performance buildings from three perspectives with an international audience representing all market segments in real estate.

Putting people at the centre of real estate decisions is common sense, but not common practice yet. Building owners, occupiers and investors are starting to integrate a human-centric approach in order to attract and retain high-quality tenants and employees, maximize financial performance of rental rates and resale value, minimize risk of incidents and obsolescence and improve shareholder relations. Delivering better work places that support human health.

During this session, Rachel Gutter, President International Well Building Institute, provided an explanation of the worldwide growth and influence of WELL for buildings, portfolios and cities.

Matt Macko, founder of STOK shared his report on the financial benefit of investing in health for people and (high performance) buildings. He talked about the value for people and value for real estate to explain the benefit for end users and property owners.

Finally, Phil Williams shared his point of view on data driven Smarter-Healthier living office environments: the intersection of buildings, data and people. Phil explained the value creation and how this can be recorded.

After an interactive discussion the guests were able to enjoy a drink on the roof terrace and get acquainted in an relaxed informal atmosphere. www.bluebuildinginstitute.eu
